Speaker Bio

Hugh P. Klitzke is a freelance voiceover coach, director and producer in New York City. For nearly fifteen years he was the Voiceover Studio Manager at Buchwald and one of the only voiceover casting directors working full time for any NYC talent agency.

Now, Hugh coaches, teaches and lectures talent at VO4TA.com. He coaches the conversational read, teaches commercial technique, voiceover self-direction, and directs auditions. His practice focuses primarily on working voiceover artists and actors who want to apply their skills to voiceover.

Hugh describes his work as developing the talent's personal voice and crafting their professional independence. "The goal is for you to not have to work with me anymore."

Hugh's coaching and direction have helped talent book projects in commercials, animation, ADR, politicals, podcasts, narration, games, audiobooks, promos, affiliates, trailers, e-learning, explainers, and industrials.

And to date, Hugh has directed over 125,000 auditions and counting.

Hugh has written over three hundred blog posts at voiceoverfortheactor.com with dozens of posts syndicated on voiceoverxtra.com. He recently contributed an essay to the sixth edition of The Art of Voice Acting by James Alburger. Now, he is writing a book. Or two.

Hugh is also an award-winning composer and lyricist for theater, film, and digital media. He has been the head of sound for Penn and Teller, an Equity stage manager, a lecturer at SUNY Purchase, a certified K-12 music teacher, an assistant to a Baroque trumpet scholar, and a two-time marathon finisher.
