Paula has more than 14 years of experience in the non-profit sector, recruiting, retaining, and motivating talent to deliver services that satisfy different missions. Currently, Paula works for Learning Ally building what they call their Volunteer Nation: A team of almost 1000 virtual volunteers donating their voices to create audiobooks for kids with learning differences. Those differences include individuals who are blind, visually impaired, or dyslexic. Without those fantastic voices, these individuals would never have access to printed books. Paula is leveraging an innovative model of virtual volunteering where people can support from any place in the world.
As part of her experience with a microphone, Paula and her husband are the creators, founders, and hosts of a podcast in Spanish called Bettervida. Bettervida is already in more than 60 countries and intended to support Latino immigrants in the world who want to contribute to the country they have emigrated to and rebuild their professional careers. Paula is originally from Colombia. She came to the U.S. in 2004 and received an MPA in Non-for-profit Management and Policy at New York University.
