For this X-session I would spend the first hour on acting technique and basic principles of script analysis--diving into the core of all VO work which is the understanding of script and character. The varying approaches to each genre will be addressed as well, and since commercial and animation/video games is where people often find they want the most work, I would spend the next hour on breaking down the commercial genre and what top CDs like Mary Lynn Wissner and Sound and Fury are looking for. The final hour we will work on animation and video game characters and audition approaches to get out of feeling stuck or confused. (I am currently booking in these genres with these CDs) Do you have handouts/materials to provide as part of your presentations?
