While many performers have made a successful living because of their specific accent or regionalism, others have found it difficult to reach audiences outside their local market. In Voiceover, versatility is key in reaching a broader market. Speaking General American English (GAE) is still one of the top requested skills on audition specs, and should be in every professional Voiceover artist's toolbox.

This session will help you understand what GAE is and how to begin speaking it by learning three components: intonation, resonance, and phonetics. Participants will also have an opportunity to receive a FREE GAE Evaluation after the session.

Takeaways

  • Understanding what is General American English
  • Discovering how to produce the General American Resonance
  • Free GAE Evaluation
